OUR STORY
What Powers Us
A Purpose, Powered by People
Going solar is an exciting experience. From getting that first proposal to the day you watch those brand new panels get installed. There is a thrill you get from ownership. Owning your power, owning your system, owning your future, and that’s what Horizon PWR is all about. But it’s more than just solar. The customer journey and the whole process of going solar? We wanted to own that, too.
CEO and Founder of Horizon PWR Judd Ferguson worked in the renewable energy industry for years, and he knew something needed to change. Customers were getting frustrated by the process of going solar. Customers were sold on the product and its benefits, but getting their systems installed proved to be a long-drawn-out process. It would sometimes take up to 12 months to get their systems up and running, and some customers never got their systems at all. Not only did this affect customer satisfaction, but had a huge effect on the sales reps who relied on the completion of these projects to make a living and feed their families.
Judd felt he could provide a better experience for both customers and sales reps. He founded Horizon PWR in Massachusetts in 2017. Horizon PWR reimagined access to solar power. By working with a network of partners, focusing on areas with permitting processes that are friendlier to solar power, and interacting directly with our customers, Horizon PWR was able to offer best-in-class solar systems in a fraction of the time. After a few years of operation, Judd brought Horizon PWR out West to Rexburg, Idaho where he was raised. He wanted to build an organization in the local community that would make a difference in the lives of individuals.
Since 2017, Horizon PWR has opened over a dozen offices throughout Oregon and Idaho, became a full-service solar installation company, and has even taken the title of Idaho’s Best Solar Company in 2021 and 2022.
As our organization continues to grow, we have never forgotten our story. Our values have remained a key element to our success. Every day we are driven by the purpose to help as many people own their power as possible.

Our Solar Power Experts Can Help
Solar energy has more than one advantage over fossil fuels. For example, after you pay for the installation, solar is free, you receive energy directly from the sun without paying again and again for your consumption. It is renewable, which means it will not be scarce. As long as there is sunlight there will be solar energy. It is clean because it does not pollute during the process of generating electricity.
Follow the next tips to get the most out of your panels:
*Make sure your panels are not shaded by buildings or trees. If they are not exposed to the sunlight, panels will not be able to provide enough energy to your house.
*Be aware of how many devices you use at home.
As with regular electricity the more devices you use at the same time the more energy will be required from the panels. A standard user chart can help monitor the amount of energy your appliances need.
*Install backup batteries.
Batteries are a great option to use all the energy your panels are producing and store the extra for rainy or cloudy days.
*Clean your panels.
Check that the dust, leaves, snow, or any other elements are not blocking the sunlight. Panels are made of glass and metal so you can easily remove the dirt. Talk to your provider if you have questions about what products are used to clean them.
Yes, according to the National Association of Realtors, solar houses sell 20% faster than houses without them. The main reason is that as electricity prices rise, solar becomes more valuable. The demand for green living is increasing due to changes in the climate. This is an investment for the future of your family and the environment.
The reason why solar energy is becoming more and more popular is that it is clean energy that does not produce greenhouse gases or any other harmful emission. The environment is polluted by the production of energy from fossil fuels that are not renewable energy sources.
This is a common and valid question many people have. Yes, it is safe for the environment and all of us because it does not produce toxic emissions and is considered a clean type of energy. An important factor to consider is if the solar company you are working with is leading by example. Manufacturing and transporting panels requires a lot of energy, so if the solar industry businesses are polluting to produce solar panels it defeats the purpose.
